Tommy Bell named athletic director at Indian University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW)

FORT WAYNE Ind.

Tommy Bell, who oversaw fundraising for Southern Illinois University’s athletic department since 2001, was named Monday as IPFW’s athletic director.

Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne Chancellor Michael A. Wartell cited Bell’s fundraising experience as the constituent development officer and knowledge of athletic administration in announcing the appointment.

“I’m sure that with his abilities and talents, the Mastodons will be reaching new goals in a very short time,” Wartell said.

The 51-year-old Bell replaces Mark Pope, who announced his resignation in April.
