Purdue’s men’s basketball team won't travel much for non-conference games

by Associated Press , July 2, 2007

WEST LAFAYETTE Ind.

The Purdue men's basketball team will only leave Indiana three times this season before the start of Big Ten play.

Key home games early on will be the season opener against Bethune-Cookman Nov. 15 at Mackey Arena and bragging rights games against Indiana State on Dec. 1 and Ball State on Dec. 5, according to the non-conference schedule released Monday.

Purdue will face Louisville on Dec. 15, in the Wooden Tradition in Indianapolis. The Boilermakers will travel out of state for games Nov. 27 at Clemson in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge and Dec. 8 at Missouri. Following home games Dec. 17 against Texas Southern and Dec. 19 against Wofford as part of the Las Vegas Classic, Purdue concludes that tournament with two games in Las Vegas on Dec. 22 and 23.

The non-conference concludes on Dec. 29 against Florida International in Mackey Arena. The entire schedule, including conference games, is expected later this month.

The Boilermakers finished 22-12 last season and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.
