Radford names provost

RADFORD Va.

Wilbur W. Stanton, the interim provost at Radford University since February, was named to the post permanently on Tuesday, the school said.

Stanton also was appointed vice president for academic affairs.

Stanton assumed the provost job on a interim basis when Ivelaw Griffith was removed after serving for less than a year. Griffith was reassigned within the university.

As the school’s chief academic officer, the provost’s responsibilities include leadership, policy formulation, strategic planning and management.
