SALT LAKE CITY ― The president of Utah State University is retiring after 11 years.
USU president Stan Albrecht announced Wednesday that he will step down as leader of the Logan-based institution.
Higher education officials say he’ll stay in the president’s chair until his replacement is found after a national search by the Utah Board of Regents. No timeline was immediately announced for the hiring process.
USU’s main campus is about 85 miles north of Salt Lake City. It also has a satellite campus in Price, USU-Eastern, which used to be the College of Eastern Utah.
Utah State is one of eight public colleges and universities in the state.
