KARL TURNER is the new associate vice president for development at Xavier University of Louisiana. Previously, Turner was executive director at the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. He has also chaired the business administration and economics department at Xavier. Turner earned a bachelor's degree in social and political philosophy from Fisk University; and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky.
CHERYL GARNER has been named assistant director of the Institute of Black Culture, a part of the dean of students office at the University of Florida. Garner earned a bachelor's degree in education psychology and a master's degree in counselor education/student development from Mississippi State University.
MARY L.WORTH has been named chief operating officer of the San Jose State University Foundation. Prior to this appointment, Worth spent more than twenty years in various business management and administration positions at the University of California-Berkeley. Worth earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of San Francisco.
