Western Kentucky University Investigating Racial Incidents on Campus

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. ― Officials at Western Kentucky University are investigating after someone slipped a statement under an assistant dean’s office door, attacking her race.

WKU Provost David Lee told the Bowling Green Daily News Monday that Assistant Dean Michelle Jones of the University College recently found the statement in her South Campus office.

He says the note attacked Jones for being African-American and said she should go back to Africa.

Lee says they are determined to find out who wrote the note.

Last month, a Black student at WKU found her parked car keyed with a racial epithet and other scratches.

WKU President Gary Ransdell said in a statement Sunday that police are investigating both incidents. He says the actions of the few do not represent the entire university.
