Lansing Community College, ex-employee settle lawsuit

LANSING Mich.

Lansing Community College and its former in-house lawyer have settled a lawsuit filed following his dismissal last September.

Tim Zeller sued the school, saying he was fired in retaliation for going to state officials with claims of criminal wrongdoing. A settlement amount wasn’t released, the Lansing State Journal reported on its Web site Tuesday.

Zeller sued the college for breach of contract. He also claimed he was denied due process and that the school violated the state Whistleblower Protection Act.

The college said it acted appropriately in dismissing Zeller.
