Atkinson leads Tigers to 34-3 win over Fort Valley State

TUSKEGEE Ala.

Jacary Atkinson threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns Saturday in leading Tuskegee to a 34-3 victory over Fort Valley State.

Tuskegee (3-0, 3-0 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) jumped ahead early, with Jason English scoring on a 57-yard pass from Atkinson at the 8:37 mark.

Fort Valley State’s (3-2, 2-1) lone score would come on a 31-yard field goal by Jake Grubbs at the top of the second quarter.

John Pascley, Sean Bailey and Stanley Reid all scored touchdowns off passes from Atkinson and Frank Williams returned an interception for 85 yards to post the game’s final score.

The Golden Tigers have limited their opponents to single digits in the first three games of the season. They defeated Benedict 44-8 and routed Miles 40-6 in the Tigers’ season opener.

Tuskegee is the defending co-SIAC champion.
