Bill Clinton, Activists, and Others Honored at King Day Celebration
At the National Action Network’s Martin Luther King Day Civil Rights Breakfast, the organization honored a diverse array of leaders for their humanitarian work, including former President Bill Clinton. Speakers and award winners stressed the importance of gun control, accessible education and other policy areas against the backdrop of an increasingly polarized country.

A Memorial for the War in America
When I think of graduation time, I don’t think about my own. Nor do I think of my kids. I think about my cousin Stephen, who came to the U.S. an immigrant when he was 8 years old from the Philippines. He received his B. A. in International Relations from San Francisco State University in 2014. But there is a digression. The degree came a few weeks after his violent gun death.

Presidents’ Day, the News and an Anti-diversity President
There’s been way too much news of consequence of late. Starting with 17 lives taken at a Florida high school by a 19-year old former student with an AR-15, to the indictments of Russian meddling, to the failure of the Congress to come up with a fix for DACA, the American public is being overloaded.
