Dr. Ted Martínez Jr. has been named president and superintendent of Río Hondo Community College (Calif.). Previously, he served as president of Grossmont College. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s from Sul Ross State University and a doctorate from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
Dr. Derrick Alridge has been appointed director of the Institute for African-American Studies at the University of Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Winthrop University and a doctorate from Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Pamela Brown has been named dean of the School of Arts & Sciences at New York City College of Technology/CUNY. Most recently, she served as acting dean of the college. Brown holds a bachelor’s from the State University of New York at Albany, a master’s from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a doctorate from Polytechnic University.
Dr. A. Lois De Laine has been appointed executive director of the Baltimore City Community College Foundation Inc. She was most recently director of the annual fund at Morgan State University. De Laine earned a bachelor’s from Morgan State, a master’s from The Catholic University of America and a doctorate from Morgan State.
Monica Delgado has been named director of the new Global Education Center at Palm Beach Community College (Fla.). She received a bachelor’s from St. Francis University, a master’s from Life Christian University, and two master’s from the University of Miami.
Dr. Ben Liu has been appointed marketing professor at Quinnipiac University (Conn.). Liu received a bachelor’s from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, a master’s from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago and a doctorate from The State University of New York at Buffalo.
Kevin G. McDonald has been named vice president for multicultural affairs and equity at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Previously, he served as the director of the university’s office for equal opportunity. He holds a bachelor’s from Andrews University and a law degree from The Ohio State University.
Wilhelmina M. Reuben-Cooke has been appointed board member of the Duke University Endowment (N.C.). She serves as provost of the University of the District of Columbia’s David A. Clarke School of Law. She earned a bachelor’s from Duke University and a law degree from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Anne Xu has been named assistant professor of Chinese at Austin College (Texas). Previously, she taught at the University of California, San Diego. Xu earned a bachelor’s from Zhejiang University in China and a master’s and doctorate from Rutgers University.
