Dr. Waded Cruzado-Salas has been named vice president and provost of New Mexico State University. Previously she was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the university. Cruzado-Salas received a bachelor’s from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Dr. John Alderete has been appointed associate vice provost for research at Washington State University. Previously, he was a professor of microbiology and immunology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He earned two bachelor’s degrees from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and a doctorate from the University of Kansas.

Gilen Chan has been appointed to the newly created position of special counsel at New York City College of Technology/CUNY. Most recently, she was senior vice president/director of ethics in the global compliance department of Citigroup. She received a bachelor’s from Pratt Institute School of Engineering and a law degree from Rutgers University School of Law-Newark.

Dr. Nathaniel Holmes has been appointed director of the office of disability services at SUNY Rockland Community College. Previously, he served as director of the learning development and evaluation center at Florida A&M University. Holmes earned a bachelor’s from Tougaloo College, and a master’s and doctorate from Washington State University.

Dr. Beverly O’Bryant has been appointed dean of the School of Professional Studies at Coppin State University (Md.). She previously served as assistant to the provost for the office of graduate studies at Bowie State University. She received a bachelor’s from Dumbarton College, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Maryland, College Park.
