Dr. Edward E. Cornwell III has been named surgeon-in-chief of Howard University Hospital and chair of the department of surgery at the Howard University College of Medicine, effective in January. Previously, he was professor of surgery and chief of trauma at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Cornwell received a bachelor’s from Brown University and his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine.





Harriet Frink Davis has been named assistant vice president for development at Hampton University (Va.). Prior to this appointment, she was director of development and director of alumni affairs at North Carolina A&T State University. Davis holds a bachelor’s and a master’s from NCA&T.





Helga A. Greenfield has been appointed associate vice president for advancement operations in the division of institutional management at Spelman College (Ga.). She holds a bachelor’s from Shaw University and a master’s from Norfolk State University.





Dr. Margaret A. Hamilton has been appointed vice president for academic affairs at Camden County College, where she has held numerous other positions. She holds a bachelor’s from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, a master’s from the University of Delaware and a doctorate from Widener University.





Dr. Magdalena Hinojosa has been named first associate vice president of admissions and enrollment at the University of Texas-Pan American. She received a bachelor’s from (then) Texas A&I University, a master’s from TAMU-Corpus Christi and a doctorate from TAMU-Kingsville/Corpus Christi.





Lynette Redd has been named director of multicultural alumni programs at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Previously she served as director of alumni affairs at West Virginia State University. Redd received a bachelor’s from Mercy College and a master’s from Marshall University.





Armida Ruiz-Martínez has been named assistant director for employee benefits and wellness at the University of Texas-El Paso. She earned a bachelor’s from the University of Phoenix and a master’s from Webster University.
