DR. DEBORA L. SPAR has been appointed president of Barnard College (N.Y.), effective July 1. Previously, she served as the Spangler Family Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. She earned a bachelor’s from Georgetown University and master’s and doctorate from Harvard University.

   WESLEY T. BISHOP has been appointed associate vice chancellor for academic affairs at Southern University at New Orleans (La.). Bishop holds a bachelor’s from Southern University at New Orleans, a master’s from the University of Mississippi and a law degree from The Ohio State University.

   DARCIE SHINBERGER has been named director of university relations at Western Illinois University. Previously, she served at WIU as interim director of university relations. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s from WIU and a master’s from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign.
