Dr. Dario Cortes
has been named president of Berkeley College, effective July 7. Currently, he serves as president and executive director of The American School Foundation in Mexico City. He earned a bachelor’s from the City University of New York, a master’s from the University of Virginia and a doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

 

 

DR. SCOTT A. BASS
has been named provost of American University in Washington, D.C., effective July 1. He is currently vice president for research and dean of the graduate school at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He earned a bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from the University of Michigan.

 

 

DR. PAUL BONICELLI
has been named provost of Houston Baptist University. Formerly, he served as assistant administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean for the U.S. Agency for International Development. He earned a bachelor’s from the University of Memphis, a master’s from Regent University and a doctorate from the University of Tennessee.

 

 

 

INGRID W. HAYES
has been appointed associate vice president for enrollment management at Spelman College (Ga.). Previously, she served as director of undergraduate admissions at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She earned a bachelor’s from DePauw University and a master’s from Georgia State University.

 

 

DR. ALICE HUNT
has been named president of the Chicago Theological Seminary. Formerly, she served as associate dean of Vanderbilt University’s Divinity School. She holds a bachelor’s from the University of Montevallo, and two master’s and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University.

 

 

GERALD HUNTER
has been named vice chancellor for finance and administration and chief financial officer at Winston- Salem State University (N.C.), effective June 23. He currently serves as chief financial officer at Antioch University in Yellow Springs, Ohio. He earned a bachelor’s from Knoxville College and an MBA from Murray State University.

 

 

VARUN SONI
has been named dean of religious life at the University of Southern California, effective July 1. He earned a bachelor’s from Tufts University, master’s degrees from Harvard University and the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

 

 

LANEECA WILLIAMS
has been appointed director of AA/EEO, student judicial affairs and campus diversity at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Previously, she served as assistant director and interim director of diversity and affirmative action at Indiana State University. She received a bachelor’s and master’s from Indiana State.

 

 

DR. DONNA WISEMAN
has been named dean of the University of Maryland, College Park’s College of Education. Most recently, she served as interim dean at the college. Wiseman earned a bachelor’s from Oklahoma State University, a master’s from Arkansas State University and a doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
