State Higher-ed System Taps New Bloomsburg University President

HARRISBURG Pa.

A Washington state university administrator has been tapped to become Bloomsburg University’s next president.

David Soltz of Central Washington University was selected by the governing board of Pennsylvania’s 14 state-owned universities following a national search.

Soltz has been the university’s provost since 2001.

Soltz is expected to start his new job in January and will replace current Bloomsburg president Jessica Kozloff, who is retiring at the end of the year. He will be paid $190,000 annually.

Soltz has a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of California at Berkeley, and a doctorate in biology from UCLA.
