Organizations Unify to Attract Minorities to Business Careers

A group of leading organizations have banded together to address the problem of minority underrepresentation in business and management education. The organizations have agreed to work together in a new coalition, the Diversity Pipeline Alliance, to leverage their individual efforts to attract more African Americans, Hispanic Americans and American Indians .
In the months ahead, the alliance will release a comprehensive report on the status of minority participation in business education. Subsequently, the group will conduct a marketing campaign to show minorities aged 12 to 24 how studying business can open exciting career opportunities. The campaign will aim to identify and debunk myths or misperceptions that may now be dissuading minority students from studying business.
An initiative of the Graduate Management Admission Council, the alliance was founded by 11 of the nation’s most prominent academic institutions, foundations and nonprofit organizations committed to increasing interest in management education and careers among students of color: They are:
