Indiana University Expects Smaller Freshman Class

Indiana University officials are expecting several hundred fewer freshmen to show up next month at the Bloomington campus than last year’s record-largest freshman class.

According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, officials expect about 7,100 freshmen when the fall semester starts in late August. IU vice provost Roger Thompson said that would be a good enrollment figure because the school plans on at least 7,000 freshmen each year. The fall 2008 freshman class of 7,564 was the largest ever at the Bloomington campus.
