Two Langston University Students Allegedly Caught Using Counterfeit Money

Thousands of dollars in fake money was found in a dorm room at Langston University by Oklahoma police.

The suspects, two Langston students were allegedly caught trying to use $100 counterfeit money to purchase liquor at a local store.

Dennis Brantley, the store owner told KOCO News 5 he initially thought it was real money, but after police began the investigation, he learned that it was not.

“It’s kind of disheartening, especially when you want to be trustful and trust you customers and not have to watch customers constantly,” said Brantley.

Police said the students then used $1,000 in fake money to buy three PlayStations at WalMart and then traveled to a WalMart in another city and tried to return the PlayStations to get a refund with real U.S. dollars.

Police obtained search warrants for the suspect’s dorm rooms and found an adornment machine to make fake credit cards, 25 pairs of brand new Nike shoes, and 29 fake $100 bills.
