Arizona State University Seeks Three-Year College

Arizona State University wants to develop a network of lower-priced colleges that offer three-year bachelor’s degrees, reports The Arizona Republic.  According to the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Offices, the undergraduate college at ASU would offer a small number of majors to allow students to fast-track their degrees through traditional and online classes. Tuition would be set at the maximum level of the federal Pell Grant, which is $5,350 a year. The plan could cut the cost of a degree by about 40 percent, or $11,150.
