Parker said he chose to give the donation to the school in efforts of helping create a world class business school, with “world class leaders”, according to NBC-affiliate WSAV3.

“We’re gonna be partnering with them, but we’re gonna do more than just give our money. We’re gonna give our intellectual capital, we’re gonna give our rolodex, we’re gonna give our CEO mentality. Try to do the things we can necessary, to help improve the students coming out of there,” said Parker.

The gift will run over the course of five years and will go towards scholarships and research projects, in addition to giving students the opportunity to get internships at Parker’s company as a result of the new partnership.

In recognition of the donation, GSU’s college of business has been renamed Parker College of Business.
