Texas A&M University to Close for President George H.W. Bush’s Funeral

Texas A&M University has announced that the Bryan-College Station campus will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 6 for former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral which will take place at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Bush’s casket will arrive to College Station from Houston by train on Dec. 6, according to ABC-affiliate KXXV.

The entire campus, except for dining services, will be closed for the day.

The university also announced that the Allen Building will be closed to faculty, staff and students from Dec. 3 beginning at 8 p.m. through Thursday, Dec. 6. Classes that normally take place in this building will be relocated.

The burial ceremony will not be open to the public. Instead of flowers, the Bush family asks that any donations be made to the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
