Four Pennsylvania-owned institutions – Millersville University, Slippery Rock University, West Chester University and East Stroudsburg University – have recently announced the addition of new degree programs developed in partnership with local employers.
Dr. Dan GreensteinThe new programs are as follows: a bachelor’s of science degree in information technology at Millersville; master’s degree programs in accountancy and social work at Slippery Rock; a master’s in physician assistant studies at West Chester and a doctorate in health sciences at East Stroudsburg.
The added programs is part of a current redesign effort at the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), according to Trib Live.
Each of the newly added programs was proposed and created by individual universities along with employers in their region, said PASSHE Chancellor Dr. Dan Greenstein.
“As we redesign the entire State System, aligning our programs with workforce needs is vital, not just to the future success of our students, but to the future of the Commonwealth,” Greenstein said. “Each of these new programs was developed with both of those goals in mind.”
