Political Strategist Angela Rye to Deliver Commencement Speech at Texas Southern University

Texas Southern University has announced that Angela Rye, a CNN commentator will deliver the keynote address during its spring 2019 commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 18.

A nationally-known political strategist, Rye has more than 10 years of experience working in the following industries: government contracting, civil rights, higher education political fundraising, homeland security, strategic communications and issue advocacy. Rye received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.

Rye serves on the boards of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute, Seattle University School of Law Alumni Board, Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network and Government Technology & Services Coalition.

Texas Southern’s commencement ceremonies will begin at 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 in the Health & Physical Education Arena.
