Colorado State University’s Occupational Therapy program has been awarded $1.6 million over a five-year period by the Colorado General Assembly. The funding will allow the program to enhance its community-based services and extend its resources to other departments.

Morehouse College in Atlanta has received $5,000 to begin the first student chapter of the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS. The money was awarded to the school during the commission’s two-day symposium titled “Meeting of the Millennium,” which yielded a national agenda on AIDS for the Bush administration.
Southeast Missouri State University has been awarded a $2.6 million federal grant to be used for architectural and consulting services in planning for the development of a Regional Museum at the River Campus.

Spelman College in Atlanta has received $1 million from the estate of Mrs. Donna R. Mitchell. In recognition of the gift, the college has established the Donna R. Mitchell Endowment to support scholarships for high-achieving students and a Restricted Fund for the Class of 2001.

The University of Toledo College of Law Legal Clinic was awarded a $29,612 grant from the Ohio State Bar Foundation to continue its work assisting in the prosecution of domestic violence cases in Toledo Municipal Court.

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale School of Medicine has received a $1 million research gift from Foresight Inc., a Connecticut-based charitable foundation. The gift will be used to establish a center to study macular degeneration.
