Dr. Roslyn Clark ArtisThis Thursday, the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame and the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. will host its second annual HBCU Sustainability Summit in Atlanta. Benedict College is a partner organization.
The two-day conference aims to spark discussions about diversity and education reform, while connecting HBCU leaders with business executives and foundations to support HBCUs’ long-term financial stability.
Panels will tackle topics from corporate philanthropy to federal policy to the legacy of Black fraternities and sororities.
Diverse: Issues In Higher Education Editor-At- Large Dr. Jamal Watson will speak on a panel exploring how HBCUs have sustained themselves in the past and what creative measures they’re taking to stay relevant in the future. He’ll be joined by Dr. Wayne A.I. Frederick, president of Howard University, Dr. Makola Abdullah, president of Virginia State University and Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough, president of Dillard University.
Other notable speakers include NCAA Executive Vice President of Inclusion and Human Resources Dr. Katrice Albert, City of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, EdChoice Outreach Director Emory Edwards and Benedict College President Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis.
