University of Kansas Chooses Not to Implement Dismissal Policy

University of Kansas will not use a criticized policy that would have made it easier to suspend tenure protections, according to the Associated Press.

The University Of Kansas E1624034727870Chancellor Douglas Girod told the Kansas Board of Regents he was confident the school will not have to suspend tenure in response to financial concerns.

Last week, he said that the university better understands its financial situation and believes one-time federal funding will help address money issues.

The board had approved the policy January to help schools deal with financial problems caused in part by the pandemic.
