Congressman Launches Education Resource Center on the Web

Congressman Launches Education Resource Center on the WebWASHINGTON
U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, D-Pa., has introduced a Web-based education resource center to help students, constituents and interested individuals from all over the country learn more about education, issues in Congress and available help from the federal government.
The resource center, available online at <www.house.gov/fattah>, features comprehensive Web content designed to inform parents, educators and students at the K-8, high school and university levels. The site provides information pertaining to special programs, online learning, college preparation, financial aid, internships, career placement, GEAR UP, extracurricular opportunities, teaching tools and education reform.
“The site will enable anyone who is interested in the education process to find out what they need to stay ahead,” Fattah says. “I believe this site can serve as a critical tool for empowering students, teachers and families.”
Although much of the resource center has a Philadelphia focus, Fattah explains that the site can be utilized by anyone who seeks to learn more about education.
“The Web site is designed to be easily navigable, appropriate for people of all ages and of special resourcefulness to those within the Philadelphia community,” Fattah notes.
