Dr. Jacqueline Stewart Hodges is the new president for the downtown campus of the Wayne Community College District in Michigan. Previously, she was dean for enrollment management and student services. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, and a master’s and a doctorate both from Wayne State University.

Dr. Gashaw W. Lake has been named dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration at Kentucky State University. Previously, he was interim dean. Lake earned a bachelor’s degree from Saginaw Valley College, and a master’s and a doctorate both from the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. William E. Lide is the new commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Previously, Lide served as director of athletics at the University of Central Arkansas. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Johnson C. Smith University, a master’s from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a doctorate from Ohio State University.
Dr. Elise Davis-McFarland has been appointed vice president for student services and dean of students at Trident Technical College in Charleston, S.C. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a master’s from the University of Virginia and a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh.
Oliver Purnell has been named head basketball coach at Clemson University in South Carolina. Purnell comes to Clemson with 15 years of Division I head coaching experience at Radford and Old Dominion universities and most recently at the University of Dayton. Purnell earned both his bachelor’s and master’s from Old Dominion University.
Dewayne Wright is the new associate director of the office of public relations at Tennessee State University. Previously, he served as assistant director for creative services at Indiana University. Wright earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
