Dr. Rudolfo Arévalo has been named president of Eastern Washington University. Most recently he was the provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Texas-Pan American. Arévalo earned a bachelor’s from UT-PA, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Michigan.
Drexel Ball has been named director of communications and public relations at Lincoln University. He had served for the past 16 years in multiple positions at Delaware State University, including in the public relations office and as executive assistant to the president. Ball earned a bachelor’s from Morehouse College and a master’s from North Carolina A&T State University.
Linda Earley Chastang has been named executive vice president and general counsel for the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. She earned a bachelor’s from Sarah Lawrence College, a master’s from Emory University and a law degree from Howard University.
Dr. Sharon Watson Fluker has been appointed vice president for doctoral programs and administration at The Fund for Theological Education. She has held teaching and administrative appointments at Dillard University, the State University of New York, the University of Rochester and Vanderbilt University. Fluker earned a bachelor’s from Spelman College and a doctorate from Northwestern University.
Rick Hancock has been named assistant dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. He is a former political reporter and host of a political affairs program on the local Fox TV station. Hancock earned a bachelor’s from Howard University and a master’s from Quinnipiac.
Dr. Soncia Lilly has been named senior associate vice president and dean of students at the University of Texas-Austin. She earned a bachelor’s from the University of California, Irvine, a master’s from California State University, San Bernardino and a doctorate from the University of Southern California.
Stephen L. McDaniel is the new vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the foundation at Alabama A&M University. Most recently he was area director for the United Negro College Fund’s Atlanta region. McDaniel earned a bachelor’s from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Vangie Meneses has been named vice president of the Office of Student Services at Coastline Community College. She had been the acting vice president of student development and services at Cuyamaca College. Meneses received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University, Sacramento.
Leslie A. Redwine is the new chair of the department of mathematics at Prince George’s Community College. She has served as a full-time faculty member in mathematics for five years. She earned a bachelor’s from Sonoma State University and a master’s from Louisiana State University.
George Reid has been appointed assistant dean for advancement for the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Most recently he was senior director of leadership gifts at American University. Reid received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ohio University.
Dr. David Robbins has been named associate academic dean at Trinity College. Robbins has served on the faculty since 1972 and is the Seabury Professor of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy. He earned a bachelor’s from Dartmouth University, a master’s from Bucknell University and a doctorate from Duke University.
Tammy Vuksinic has been appointed to serve as head of the new post-graduate program at Mitchell College. She had previously worked as executive director at Berkshire Hills Music Academy. Vuksinic earned a bachelor’s from Southern Connecticut State University and a master’s from the University of Connecticut.
