Hampton University has received a $4.1 million contribution from the Pepsi Bottling Group and the PepsiCo Foundation that will be used for the university’s $200 million Capital Campaign and Leadership Institute.

Tuskegee University has been awarded $3.5 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to establish a Center for Minority Land and Community Security. The center will assist minorities to maintain and increase their land holdings while developing their local communities.

The Georgia Institute of Technology received a software donation of approximately $1.5 million from Microsoft Research’s University Relations Group. The gift will be used to strengthen the institute’s Office of Minority Education Development.

Morehouse College has received a $571,620 grant from General Motors that will allow the institution’s dual-degree engineering students to design, assemble and test products on donated computer equipment and software.

San Francisco State University’s Center for the Integration and Improvement of Journalism has received a three-year, $525,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to expand efforts to increase diversity in the media.

Mississippi Valley State University recently received $169,032 in grants: a three-year, $100,000 grant from Pre-College Awards for Excellence in Mathematics, Science, Engineering and Technology; a $53,032 grant from the Environmental Health Services branch at the National Center for Environmental Health, Center for Disease Control and Prevention; and a $16,000 grant from the Space Grant Consortium.

Morris College has received a $50,000 Bank of America Teacher Education Grant for the enhancement of the institution’s teacher education program.
