Spelman College Discontinues Cosby Professorship

Bill CosbyBill Cosby

Spelman College has recently decided to officially terminate a professorship endowed by Bill Cosby and his wife, Camille. The professorship was suspended in December amid growing allegations against Cosby.

The private, all-female college did not state a reason for its decision but, according to CNN, the announcement comes one week after Cosby admitted to obtaining drugs for women that he wanted to have sex with.

Cosby has been publicly accused of sexually assaulting over two dozen women but has denied all allegations.

Spelman has long had ties to the Cosbys. The Cosby’s two daughters both attended Spelman College, and Bill and Camille have donated millions to the school. At one time, their $20 million donation was the largest donation to an HBCU.

Although Cosby has admitted to obtaining sedatives to give to women that he had sex with, he has not actually admitted to drugging or sexually assaulting them.
