UVM College of Medicine gets new dean

BURLINGTON Vt.
A pediatrician from Buffalo,
N.Y., will become the next dean of the
University of Vermont College of Medicine.

Dr. Frederick C. Morin, III,
will take over as the 17th dean of the college on Aug. 25, UVM President Dan
Fogel said in a statement.

“Rick Morin is an accomplished researcher, physician,
educator, scholar and administrator, and we are all extremely pleased to have
such strong leadership for the College
of Medicine,” said Fogel.
“He is passionately committed to our education, research and service
missions, and will be a key collaborator as we work toward establishing UVM as
the nation’s premier small public research university.”

Morin is currently the chair of pediatrics department at the
University of Buffalo.

Morin, 58, is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and
Yale University
school of medicine.
