Alabama A&M posts 45-14 win over MVSU, first 3-0 start since ’66

HUNTSVILLE Ala.

Kelcy Luke threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns Saturday as Alabama A&M defeated Mississippi Valley State University 45-14.

The win gives the Bulldogs (Southwestern Athletic Conference) their first 3-0 start since 1966.

Luke connected with Charles Moody, who scored on the 7-yard pass in the second quarter. A Jeremy Licea 25-yard field goal seven minutes later put the Bulldogs ahead 10-0.

Johey Hargrett ran 7-yards into the endzone for MVSU’s (1-2, 1-2) first score of the night.

Ulysses Banks scored twice in the third quarter for Alabama A&M and Brandon Stargell added the Devils’ final score of the game on a 27-yard pass from Paul Roberts.

Roberts was 7-of-14 for 92 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked six times.
