University of Nebraska Foundation Gives $89.5 Million To Campuses

LINCOLN Neb.

The University of Nebraska Foundation says it has transferred nearly $90 million to the system’s four campuses during the last year, a new high.

The foundation says the money gave aid for scholarships, academic programs, research and improvements to campus buildings.

That money has been split between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Total assets for the foundation as of June 30 are $1.6 billion.

Terry Fairfield, chief executive for the foundation, says most donors direct how their gifts are to be used.

The foundation has been raising private money for the university system for 71 years.
