Dr. William R. Belisle has been appointed grants, funded research and contracts officer at Southern University at New Orleans. Previously he was senior environmental engineer at SEMCOR Inc. in Huntsville, Ala. Belisle earned a bachelor's from Alabama State
University, a master's from Southern University at Baton Rouge, La., and a doctorate  from Alabama A&M University.

Dr. Ivy Locke has been named the new vice president for business and finance at Southeast Missouri State University. Most recently, Locke was vice president for fiscal affairs at Stillman College in Alabama. Locke earned a bachelor's from Emory University, a master's  from Washington University and a doctorate from the University of Florida.

Dr. Felix A. Okojie has been promoted to vice president for research and strategic initiatives at Jackson State University. Previously he served as acting vice president for research and development. Okojie earned a bachelor's in business administration from Auchi Polytechi in Nigeria, a master's in sociology and a doctorate in educational administration and policy studies from Atlanta University.
Diane Saunders Greer, has been named special assistant to the president of Virginia State University. Formerly she was an associate with Hunton & Williams. Greer earned a bachelor's from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master's from George Washington University and a law degree from
Washington and Lee University.

Dr. Linda Thompson, an associate professor of nursing and assistant dean for policy and planning at the University of Maryland, has been inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Thompson earned a bachelor's and a master's in from Wayne State University in Michigan, and a second master's and doctorate from Johns Hopkins University.

George M. Williams has been appointed to the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. Williams is the managing partner and chief executive officer of Williams Partners Inc., an investment banking firm. Williams earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Southern University and a master's from Harvard University.
