Minority Engineering Group Gets Boost With Web SiteNEW YORK
Lockheed Martin, IBM and Web developer Enzyme Digital recently teamed to launch GuideMeNACME.org, also known as "Project RoadMap." The new National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) Web site is aimed at providing information and guidance for middle and high school students interested in pursuing engineering careers. It offers resources for students, parents and educators. According to NACME president and CEO, Dr. John Brooks Slaughter, the new Web site will help NACME "produce more than 250,000 minority engineers in the next decade."
The collaboration represents Enzyme Digital's fourth e-business project for NACME, and the first initiative involving a team effort among NACME, Lockheed Martin, IBM, and Enzyme Digital. The New York-based Enzyme Digital developed Web sites and e-commerce applications for other nonprofits, including An American Quilt, which is a tribute to victims of the Sept. 11 attacks, and LIFEbeat, a music industry project to fight HIV/AIDS.
