Grants & AwardsCalifornia State University-Northridge has received $25,000 from Jumpstart, a nonprofit organization, to start a new program in which university students will work with at-risk pre-schoolers to improve their school readiness.The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has received two grants from the National Collegiate Athletic Association for $120,000. The grants will be used to enhance conference operations and the hiring of an ethnic minority employee for the conference.McHenry County College (Ill.) received two grants totaling $12,890 from the Illinois Community College Board for online course development.Ramapo College will be awarded a federal appropriation of $800,000 toward the Marge Roukema Center for International Education and Entrepreneurship. The grant will provide funding for equipment, programs and furnishings for the center through the Labor/Health and Human Services appropriations bill.The University of Memphis is receiving a $1.5 million endowment for the new Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management from the Six Continents Hotels chain.  The University of Pennsylvania has been awarded $100,000 by the Pew Charitable Trusts to develop a regional civic-engagement project for 1,000 students in about 20 Pennsylvania and New Jersey high schools.
