Bethany College Names New President

BETHANY W.Va.

Bethany College has named Scott D. Miller as its 19th president.

Miller has been president of Wesley College in Dover, Del., for the past 10 years. He’ll take over his new post in January.

Miller says his goal is to move Bethany to the next level by increasing enrollment to the 1,100-mark and raising funds to improve facilities to modern standards. His plans also include study abroad opportunities for students.

The 48-year-old Miller is a native of western Pennsylvania and says his new position in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle will bring him closer to his family roots.

He will succeed G.T. Smith, who is retiring after four years at Bethany.
