Pace University Receives Nearly $2 Million Grant to Encourage Minorities to Pursue Careers in Nursing

Pace University’s College of Health Professions has received nearly $2 million to increase opportunities and retention for minorities in nursing, according to Pace officials.

Pace University E1625244202293The Nursing Workforce Diversity four-year grant – funded through the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) – is meant to increase educational opportunities and retention for first-gen college students from underrepresented ethnic and racial minority groups.

The goal is to address inequality among race and ethnicity of nurses and the populations they serve that results in inequities in health care outcomes, said Dr. Rhonda Maneval, senior associate dean at Pace’s College of Health Professions and Lienhard School of Nursing.
