Under Earlham College’s recently-established Heartland Region Scholarship, all accepted fall 2021 students who live within 150 miles of campus are eligible to receive $8,000 in funding over four years.

This includes students living in eastern Ohio, Indiana, southern Michigan, northern Kentucky and the Chicago area, according to the college.

Incoming students may also be eligible for other scholarship opportunities. For example, those who apply to Earlham by Dec. 1 can qualify for its scholarship day event, where students have the potential to earn between $1,000 and $5,000 in funding.

“We are committed to providing access to a top-tier liberal arts education to our neighbors at a time when students are reexamining their options in higher education,” said Dr. Anne Houtman, president of Earlham. “Earlham’s extraordinary learning opportunities and commitment to undergraduate teaching attract students from around the world, and our personalized attention and effective response to the pandemic make us an ideal option for students from our own backyard.”
