UNC Administrator Named DSU Provost

DOVER Del.

Delaware State University says Harry Lee Williams, administrator at the University of North Carolina, has accepted the position of provost.

DSU officials said Williams, who is an interim senior associate vice president at UNC, was offered the job last week.

DSU has not had a permanent chief academic officer for years. Kenneth Bell, the on-again, off-again interim provost since 2002, is scheduled to retire in the summer.

Amir Mohammadi, vice president for finance and administration and chairman of the search committee, called Williams a well-rounded academic professional.
