New York’s Hostos College Names New President

NEW YORK

Dr. Felix Matos Rodriguez, a former official in the government of Puerto Rico, has been named president of Hostos Community College in the Bronx.

Rodriguez is the former secretary of the Department of the Family for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

His appointment was approved by City University of New York trustees.

Matos Rodriguez is a cum laude graduate of Yale University, where he majored in Latin American studies. He received his doctorate in history from Columbia University.

Matos Rodriguez has published extensively in the fields of migration, women’s, Puerto Rican, Caribbean and Latino studies.
