Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) is working with Next Level Leadership, Inc., a non-profit training organization that creates educated African-American leaders, to establish a program where future leaders can cultivate and flourish.
JCSU’s Innovation CenterThe program will occur over the course of five months, and the first class will be selected in January from students, professionals, and citizen applicants from the Charlotte area.
“This is engaging the next level of Black leadership, incorporating the curriculum to connect millennial’s to baby boomers to work within systems to make change in Charlotte,” said JCSU president Clarence D. Armbrister. “I’m excited for JCSU to continue expanding its role as a foundation of leadership.”
The partnership program will establish a pipeline of African-American leaders and will give participants the opportunity to study civic engagement, economic empowerment and organizational development, according to a JCSU press release.
The launch will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Innovation Lab on JBCU’s campus.
