Submissions for $500,000 WISE Prize for Education 2019 Now Open

The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) is now accepting submissions for the 2019 WISE Prize for Education, which recognizes an individual or a team of up to six people for outstanding and innovative contributions in education.

The prize, which was established in 2011 by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, was created to increase the visibility of educators and education by giving it comparable status enjoyed in other areas where international recognition is present, such as economics, literature and peace, according to a WISE release.Wise Logo

Past WISE Prize “Laureates” include Dr. Patrick Awuah, Ghana; Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, Afghanistan;  Ann Cotton, The United Kingdom; Vicky Colbert, Colombia; Dr. Madhav Chavan, India; and Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Bangladesh.

The 2019 WISE Prize Laureate will be announced during the 2019 WISE Summit in Doha, Qatar that will occur from Oct. 28-30, 2019.

Eligible persons or teams should exhibit commitment to education, have sustainable impact and showcase positive systemic change as a result of their leadership, according to the release.

Nominations can be submitted online at https://programs.wise.org.qa/ now until 13:00 GMT, Feb. 6, 2019.
