Strada Education Network Awards $8M in Grants for Organizations That Connect Education to Employment

Strada Education Network has announced it has given $8 million in grants to support organizations that help prepare learners of all ages for in-demand careers.

“No one sector can close skill and equity gaps, alone. These grants reflect a commitment to investing in an ecosystem of providers to help individuals bridge the divide between education and economic opportunity,” William D. Hansen, president and CEO of Strada Education Network said in the announcement. “These grant partners understand that completion, alone, is insufficient to make good on the promise of postsecondary education. They’re listening to education consumers as well as employers, and designing solutions that are relevant to the real-world challenges – and opportunities – today’s student’s face.”

Seven organizations were chosen out of hundreds of applicants in the Innovative Solutions in Education-to-Employment competition. Those organizations include Bay Path University, George Mason University, Oregon State University; nonprofits Code Nation and Community Education Coalition; and workforce organizations Commonwealth Corporation Foundation and San Diego Workforce Partnership.

“These grantees are demonstrating what’s possible when the design of education and training programs start with consumer insights,” said Carol D’Amico, Strada executive vice president for mission advancement and philanthropy. “They reflect both the diversity of the communities they serve, and the multitude of opportunities that can be unlocked through fresh thinking at the intersection of education and employment.”
