The College of Business is one of the few AACSB-accredited business schools in the country and the first college in the state to provide an executive Ph.D. in business to its students, according to FAU officials.

The three-year, research-focused doctoral program was created for senior-level professionals with plentiful experience in the industry who wish to earn the highest academic degree in the field while continuing to advance their careers. To be launched in the fall 2019 semester, the 80-credit hour, cohort-designed program will be offered to students on weekend with concierge service and will be taught by the college’s doctoral-qualified research faculty.

“This is the next evolution of higher-level business education,” said Dr. Daniel Gropper, dean of the College of Business. “We now have a vehicle for people who have an MBA or other master’s degree to continue on and earn a doctoral degree. This is a way to further distinguish yourself.”

The program is customized for senior managers, potential leaders and C-suite professionals who strive to become experts in their industries, valued thought leaders and contributors of new knowledge and best practices. The doctoral program will consist of in person lectures and presentations in addition to supplementary materials found online.

“We want to create evidence-based decision makers,” said Dr. Ken Johnson, associate dean of graduate programs in the College of Business. “When finished, graduates will be able to analyze data, conduct and interpret current research and make decisions necessary to solve complex challenges.”
