MARIA ARVELO LUMPKIN

Maria ArveloMARIA ARVELO LUMPKIN has been appointed interim president of Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is the youngest person to lead the school in its 153-year history. Currently chief operating officer at SAU, Lumpkin holds a bachelor’s degree from SAU, a master’s degree in urban studies from Old Dominion University and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy from Clark Atlanta University.
