California State University Northridge has received $380,000 from the National Science Foundation to continue research on how children deal with everyday racial and ethnic discrimination.

Grambling State University’s (La.) biology department is the recipient of a $371,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health. The grant will be used to research the treatment and prevention of cataracts.

Illinois Wesleyan University received a $250,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation of New York to support the development of the institution’s archival and special library collections and to strengthen the humanities curriculum.

The Kentucky State University Land Grant Program recently received a $243,603 grant for its Small Farmer Outreach Training and Technical Assistance Program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Mt. San Antonio College has been awarded a three-year, $1.4 million grant from the California Endowment to create an International Health Care Workers Assistance Center for the Los Angeles and southern California areas.

Tougaloo College (Miss.) has received a $400,000 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission. The grant will be used to renovate historic Brownlee Gym, which will house a valuable art collection.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City received $347,888 to house the Kansas City Metro Child Trauma Stress Community Practice Center. The goal is to improve treatment and services for all children and adolescents in the community who have experienced traumatic events.

Winston-Salem State University’s School of Health Sciences received a four-year $998,658 grant from the U.S. Department of Defense to establish a breast cancer research program on its campus.
