MERITZA TAMEZ

Meritza TamezMERITZA TAMEZ has been appointed dean of students at the University of Houston- Downtown. She has served as interim dean since July 2019 and previously served as assistant dean of students and the director of UHD’s Office of Disability Services. Tamez holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M and a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision from Penn State.
