Nellie Mae Expands Online Financial Advice Web SiteBRAINTREE, Mass.
Nellie Mae, a top originator of student loans, has announced a new component to its FinMan program, which offers online financial guidance to college students. The FinMan’s new feature is the ‘Tip-of-the-Month’ series, which will deliver messages specifically geared toward upperclassmen on topics such as saving money when food shopping, choosing banking services, protecting their security deposit when moving into an apartment and more.
In addition to the new component, Nellie Mae is announcing the 2002-2003 Academic Year release of the original FinMan program, which has been in use by students and administrators on college campuses nationwide.
In its second year, FinMan is designed to enhance financial counseling and debt management outreach on college campuses in a manner that appeals to today’s technology-savvy students.
The program requires minimal administrative effort on the part of participating schools aside from sending global e-mails, and offers schools a new strategy for delivering financial guidance to their students.
